  • Please try the following temporary steps to troubleshoot:

    • Switch to the Twenty Fifteen theme
    • Deactivate all of your plugins, no exceptions
    • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies
    • Re-login and visit the post editor

Do you still get the problem when you do that?

?? still have the same issue. Just did everything you listed above…please help??…

Time to try a manual WordPress update I would think.

    0) Make sure your hosting can handle the latest version of WordPress.
    1) Download the latest version of WordPress.
    2) Unzip it.
    3) Access your WordPress installation on the server (SSH, SFTP or control panel – if you don’t have any of these options, contact your web hosts and ask about how you can access the file system of your space on the server)
    4) Upload the WordPress files and overwrite the old files on the server **BUT DO NOT OVERWRITE THE FOLLOWING:***
    wp-config.php
    wp-content folder
So overwrite everything but the wp-config.php file and the wp-content directory.

    5) Test and confirm that the site works.
    6) You have just successfully manually updated/upgraded WordPress.
    7) Test to see if the editor works correctly.

If this doesn’t resolve the issue, please report back and let us know more about your WordPress installation – like what kind of server, what version of WordPress you’re running, what plugins and themes are being used, etc.

    ?? I did this already and it didn’t help ?? so confused…. ??
i’m at a lost..was going to try & install a complete new wordpress / new database/ in a subfolder and when I try to install in the subfolder I get a 404 ERROR. any idea? I have all the right details in the wp-config file..

I’ve got the same problem. I have a visual editor but i can’t use the second line of buttons in the text editor buttons. With these buttons you can normally make Headings or style your text in a color.

Deleting all the plug-ins, re-install wordpress etcetera, nothing worked. I’m so confused too…. Called for hours with my web hosts with no results.

I used the Tesseracts theme with wordpress 4.3.1.
    I installed the following plugins:

    – Pagebuilder by siteorigin
    _ Siteorigin Widgets bundle
    – Black Studio TinyMCE
    – Contact Form 7
    – Easy Google Fonts
    – Lightbox Plus Colorbox
    – Spacer
    – Title Remover
    – WooCommerce

Does anyone knows what to do so I can make headings etcetera without? Thanks in forward
