Missing widget visibility button

What “visibility button” are you referring to? Do you mean you can’t see the widget area in your WordPress dashboard? Can you still view the widgets on the site’s front-end?

Sorry ill try to be more clear. Ultimately my goal is to display only certain widgets on certain pages. So when I open the widgets page, on the right side under Header I have my active widgets. I read from that link that when I hit the down arrow on any widget, options will appear underneath including a Visibility button next to the save button that will allow me to hide the widget on certain pages. I do not have this visibility button. Thank you for your help!

Just to confirm, is it the Responsive Theme you’re using?

As far as I’m aware a visibility button, such as you described, doesn’t come by default with WordPress nor as part of the Responsive Theme. What is the link you’re referring to, where you read this?

In the right hand column of the Widgets screen you will be able to see a list of locations where you can include widgets. When you hit the down arrow on any of these options, you will be able to see the widgets that are in each location. You can drag and drop widgets from any of these right hand column locations, into the main left-hand widget area or vice versa.

In any case, do you know how I can hide my widgets from certain pages? For instance, I have widget for a form to subscribe to my mailchimp listing. I don’t want it on every page, but maybe only my contacts page. How can I do this? Thank you!

Ah, the links you provided are specific to WordPress.COM. The software you download from www.ads-software.com differs from this in a few ways.

Anyway. In regards to your problem, I think the simplest solution will be to install and make use of a plugin. I recommend the “Display Widgets” plugin – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/display-widgets/. This plugin will allow you to choose what pages each widget is visible in via a checklist.
