    Hello,
My hosting company recently moved my data from one server to another server. I have 2 websites hosted with them. While transferring, they lost some files from one website and now I cannot log in to WordPress Dashboard.
When I try to open ‘parfocal.ca/wp-admin.php, the page loads empty. According to them, the following pages are empty.

    edit-comments.php
    wp-blog-header.php
    wp-cron.php
    wp-load.php
    wp-login.php
    wp-mail.php

I don’t know much about backend files but I tried to copy files from my working website to the other problem website folder without success. Is there any way to regain access to WordPress Dashboard? Interestingly, the website is working absolutely fine.

    Thank you

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Try using an FTP client to overwrite the WordPress installation.

@colonue To troubleshoot issues with your WordPress site, download your current WordPress installation. Upload the wp-login.php file via FTP/CPanel to gain access to /wp-admin. Once inside, install the “Health Check & Troubleshooting” plugin and navigate to Tools > Site Health in the Tools Tab. Perform a check on file integrity, and the plugin will provide a list of missing files that you can then upload through FTP/CPanel for resolution.

    Hi @colonue

There is two way to do this

    1. you can check your wordpress version put the files manually which is missing using FTP. or cPanel
    2. if you restore old backup there and replace wp-content folders with latest files. and update the database as well. Make sure you take the backup of your site as well before doing these steps.

Let me know if you issue is still not solved.

    1. If you have a recent backup of your WordPress site, retrieve it. This can be from a backup plugin, hosting provider, or any other backup solution you use.
    2. Extract the backup files to a location on your computer. Look for the missing files within the backup.
    3. Use cPanel or FTP to upload the wp-login.php file and gain access for wp-admin.
    4. Install the “Health Check & Troubleshooting” plugin and navigate to Tools > Site Health in the Tools Tab, and check a file integrity.
    5. The plugin will generate a list of missing files, which you can address by uploading them via CPanel for resolution.

Rather than replacing just a few files that are detected as missing, it’s better to replace all WordPress core files. This way you’ll not miss any (core) files, and you’ll also be sure that they are all for the same version.

    Follow the instructions at https://www.ads-software.com/documentation/article/updating-wordpress/#step-1-replace-wordpress-files
