Missing/Broken 2016 theme

So WordPress 4.4 came out, I usually install updates within 3-6 hours. Since It’s the holiday season, I upgraded today on December 10. I have 17 of my own sites to upgrade plus countless clients.

When I have more than one update for a site, plugins go first then themes then core.

I keep TWO and only TWO themes for EVERY site (my own and clients’s) the theme chosen for that site and 2014, when 2015 came around, the second/backup theme for all sites became 2015.

2016 did not load when the WordPress installation was upgraded to 4.4

I had to go to THEMES, ADD NEW and install it that way, 17 times plus of clients’s sites.

The only exception is my own personal site that has 3 themes…2016, it’s standard theme and a christmas theme which is on until December 26.

I have 2016 on all sites now by the way, all sites are 4.4. I don’t have automatic upgrade (please don’t bother suggesting automatic upgrade, I won’t).

So what went wrong?
