    Hi,

I used WPVivid to replace and old version of a site with a new one I had been developing. Everything seemed to go well although I did notice that the original plugins were still listed (although deactivated) and the new ones from the development site were also there as expected.

When logged into the transferred site it works perfectly. However, when I am not logged in, some of the pages of the site belong to the original site (have 5 menu items) and some pages have 7 menu items (the new version).

I have updated permalinks and this actually sorted some pages but reverted others to the old version. The home page never changes – it always remains as the old version. Just now it only seems to be the “Testimonials” menu item that takes you to the new version of the site.

    Can you please help?

    Regards,

    jmkt

    Hi @jmkt

Everything seemed to go well although I did notice that the original plugins were still listed (although deactivated) and the new ones from the development site were also there as expected.

WPvivid Backup Plugin only copies files and does not delete files. That’s why the plugins were still listed.

when I am not logged in, some of the pages of the site belong to the original site (have 5 menu items) and some pages have 7 menu items (the new version).

All the tables contained both in the source site and the destination site will be dropped and created during the migration.

Our guess is that your old site had some tables that the new site did not have, so these tables could not be dropped and created.

So we would always recommend migrating to a clean WordPress, which can avoid many problems.

    Hope this helps.
