• I have no experience of WordPress yet, but from looking at other people’s wordpress-driven blogs I know what to expect in terms of blog content.

However it would also be useful to use WordPress for mainstream site content along with a contents/index. Can anyone tell me if WordPress is flexible enough to do this?

Specifically I had the following in mind. On the home page I would like a “Whats New”, which is essentially the latest couple of entries from my blog content, and underneath the “Whats New” section I’d like a static contents section which lists the software and articles on my site. Clicking “more” for any of those would take me to a page with all the info about the software app, or the full article etc, and those pages would be kept up to date as needed.

The reason for my question is because I can’t really see how to maintain a site using blogging software that gives details my various software apps. When I update my software app, would I edit the original blog or post a new blog. That’s why I’m seeing if I can separate that content from the blog content. The other reason for my question is that if I use a regular blog, the blog article detailing my software app would gradually work its way down the homepage as I add more blog articles, eventually falling off the homepage altogether, and obviously I wouldnt want that.

Hopefully I got it across clearly! (probably not). Thanks for any suggestions…
