    I recently enabled mixed content fixer (I need it), but now this feature is rewriting the images on my site.

    Dozens of images are appearing in my media library with the filenames changed to a super long numerical values.

    For example, on this page, most of the images have been re-written. Here is what my media library is starting to look like.

    Replacing the image using the editor doesn’t even fix the issue. One needs to change the “scr=” in the html code of the image to push it back towards the original.

    This is super annoying. Please help.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    I also just noticed there is this setting “Use alternative method to fix mixed content”. Might this fix the issue? In either case I really want an explanation as to why this is happening, and the drawbacks of using the alternative method if the primary method is indeed causing this headache. Thanks ??

    @rurban23,

    This is not caused by Really Simple SSL. Possibly you have an image optimizer, caching plugin or something similar on your site which does this.

    Really Simple SSL only changes http URL’s to https, and won’t change actual filenames.

    You can check this by using the “deactivate Really Simple SSL but keep https” option in settings/ssl/settings. This will deactivate the plugin, but will keep your site on SSL.

    After deactivating, you will see that the image filenames will still be the same.

    Thanks. I’ve reached out to Cloudflare and it’s not them either. I think now that it might be the SG Optimizer plugin that I have. Thanks for the response!
