Mixed Quote and Cart Products

    If I have some products that are available by quote and some products that can be purchased instantly – can they be added to the same cart?

    What happens when the user checks out? Does the entire cart default to a quote?

    @cruisetastic in my config, this is how it works. But I am exploring options on how to possibly separate this into two different carts/orders. Any thoughts, Pinal Shah?

    Hi @cruisetastic,

    When a cart contains products which are not available for quotes (normal products) and the user adds a product which is available for quotes, then the old products are removed from the cart & the quote product is added.

    In a situation which is vice versa (carts contains quote products and normal product is being added) the same thing will happen. The old products will be removed & the new one will be added.

    In both the cases, a message is displayed to the customer, stating why the old products were removed.

    This is done as no payment is taken for quote products at Checkout.

    @webgmclassics – That should not be the case. You should not be able to add both the products at the same time to a cart. The plugin should stop you from doing that.
