    Hi
I just noticed that Yoast SEO is not generating a page sitemap. It does, however, generate every other sitemap just fine. I’ve done some investigating and found that it’s caused by the Media Library Assistant plugin. I love this plugin and would like to keep using it. I’ve tried changing some settings in the plugin to see if that would fix the problem, but to no avail. Do you know why MLA would cause this issue and how do I fix it?

    Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your question. Can you tell me if your issue is the same as or different from the one raised in this earlier topic?

Thanks for any additional information you can give me.

My issue is different from the linked issue. MLA specifically causes Yoast not to generate the page-sitemap sub sitemap, if that makes sense. With MLA active, Yoast can still generate a post-sitemap and attachment-sitemap. But, in my case at least, MLA makes the page sitemap generated by Yoast blank/empty.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Thanks for taking the time to look through the earlier topic and for your update.

I don’t have much experience with of knowledge of Yoast SEO beyond that earlier topic. I am also on my way out of town and I will not have access to my development/test system until I return on 9/26. I will do what I can to look into this but it may be some time before I can report any progress.

Thanks for your understanding and your patience.

No problem. This conflict started with a recent update to Yoast, within the last two months probably.

Thank you for your patience while I was traveling and catching up with too many tasks after my return home. I have just done some testing with Yoast SEO 2.3.5 and MLA 2.14.

On my test system, this combination is generating XML Sitemaps without any issues like the one you reported. Here is my XML Sitemap Index File and the page sitemap:

One thing I noticed is that the “Last Modified” date does not always change when a new page is added to the site. I had to uncheck the “Check this box to enable XML sitemap functionality.” box, Save Changes, check the box and Save Changes again to get the dates to update.

Are you still having this problem? If so, can you try the disable/enable XML sitemap functionality trick and let me know if it helps?

It has been two months since my last post in this topic and I have seen nothing further. Yoast SEO has been updated to version 3.0.6, a major upgrade that changed much of the sitemap functionality. The latest MLA version contains a new example plugin, /media-library-assistant/examples/mla-yoast-seo-example.php.txt, that enhances the generation of XML page sitemaps in the new Yoast version.

I assume you have found a solution that works for your application. I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you are still having trouble with your Yoast sitemaps. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.
