My ads are set to only show on phone/mobile only – I use Chrome and its been fine ever since I started using it. However, I was pointed out that on Firefox the ads are showing on desktop, even though I have none set to display within the posts on desktop.

I’m not sure if this started when I upgraded to 4.3.1 or if it was happening before since I don’t use Firefox regularly.

Is there a setting I’m missing? Or is this a known glitch? How do I remove them?

Ad Inserter determines device type (mobile or desktop) when it is called – this happens when WP creates page.
If you are using caching then the same (cached) page is served for all users regardless of device type.

There are two general solutions for proper view on mobile devices:
    1. Make sure your theme supports and serves different pages to desktop/mobile devices.
    2. Use Mobile Theme Switcher plugin, for example https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/any-mobile-theme-switcher/
This way you can use different theme for mobile view.

Ad Inserter will be called for both themes so make sure all the blocks are configured properly.

Some caching plugins can build the separated cache for desktop and mobile. May be this can help to solve the problem.
