Mobile App home page problem

On my mobile home screen in WP Touch there is a top image slider for the top stories, which is great. Below that is a recurring series of calendar listings for one particular event, the Manchester Makers Space. It’s redundant and I don’t see a reason for it to be like that, or how to fix it.

If there were other calendar items listed that would be fine, but why is it only picking up the one event with a year’s worth of recurring dates?
