Contact Form 7 plugin is working fine on the desktop, however, when I include a word in the blacklist it stops submitting from mobile devices, at the same time the desktop is still working fine. When I leave the blacklist blank, mobile devices start submitting, however, I’m getting a lot of spam, any ideas on how to fix this problem?

    thank you

when I include a word in the blacklist

What word is it? Why do you think you need to add the word?

I’m trying to block spam, for example, I don’t want anyone whose comment includes “for sale” to be able to submit. However, when I add ANY word it stop working for mobile no matter what the word(s) is.

    Comment Blacklist description says:

One word or IP address per line. It will match inside words, so “press” will match “WordPress”.

You have “for” and “sale”. It could be appearing anywhere, not only in mobile messages.

I used “for sale” as an example. How does it work on desktop but not on mobile? Like I said before, doesn’t matter what word is on the blacklist, if it’s NOT empty it won’t submit in mobile devices ONLY on desktop.

I have installed a new WP site with no other plugins and it still gives me the same problem, I’m guessing this is a problem with the contact form itself or maybe the new update. I can’t know for sure if the form worked at all in the past on mobile devices. Any suggestions? @takayukister

Try adding this line into the Comment Blacklist field:

    3CUyNLtiqW0T2qke91HXlffA3RjQi85twc1

Tell us if you still see the issue.

That did the trick! Thank you!
What was wrong? Is there a way to fix it without having to insert that line?

    thank you

so recently I have noticed that it’s a hit and miss when submitting the contact form. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. A new update came and still having the same issues. Any idea how to find a permanent solution, Takayuki Miyoshi (@takayukister) ?
