Mobile display

Hi,

My theme seems to have responsive features in built but it looks like I have overriden them. I have now applied max-width to my content to make it adapt to all devices. However, my header and footer are still being funny. The footer displays on three rows, where I would just need it to shrink, while the header elements sort of stack up on one another. Is there a way of simply shringking everything?

Also, my menu automatically goes to the first option selected, whereas you can see there are many submenus. I am not sure what to Google in this case so I have not been able to figure out how to work around that or disable the clickable option of the top menu.
