• Hi,

Am I correct in thinking that the standard expanded hamburger menu in Twenty Twenty Three doesn’t show a site title block or any other block for that matter, such as social icons, when it is in this expanded view?

I notice it is like this on the demo site, you click the hamburger and the site title disappears.

I’ve created my Header (vertical sidebar) as a Template Part as apparently that will achieve what I’m explaining here, but it’s not making a difference. Anyone know if this is possible or not?

    Thank you!

Hey @davidhc – your initial thought is correct. As things stand – the overlay view of the navigation will only contain items within the navigation block itself, not the other elements from the header.

There is currently a discussion around having that overlay view be a separately managed section (so you could allow other elements like Site Title) but for now – it is limited to the Navigation items.

Hey @jordesign, that’s great, thank you for the confirmation ?? I had tried a few things, adding them to the Nav as items, grouping the Nav with the other blocks etc, all of which got them to display within the hamburger overlay but then not before clicking it and so on! But that’s great it’s potentially being added in some way.

Off topic, but do you know if WP have a tester program or anything for the Twenty Twenty Four theme or do they keep that entirely in-house? Or I can post that question elsewhere if not suitable here. Cheers!

Great question regarding testing – work on the TwentyTwentyFour theme is in progress – and you can track any discussions and decisions in the Github repo for it here.

It’s also possible to help test beta releases (for example the next beta for WP6.4, which includes the TwentyTwentyFour theme, is released next week). The best place to keep an eye out for that is here:
