“I think I found the issue – Chrome notifications were off on my device! But this is still creates a weird user experience because we accepted the opt-in. User would expect that opt-in would mean that they can get notifications. Is there any way to fix this?” -> Understood. We will look into this. We believe there is little we can do if Chrome notifications are turned off by the Operating System, but we will check if there is a way to show a message to the user. Agree that the user experience gets compromised in situations like there where OS has blocked display of notifications by Chrome browser.
About the Welcome Notifications. You should receive Welcome notification if configured. Just how you should receive Demo notifications from our demo page. A few things to check:
1- Make sure your OS/Browser is not blocking display of notifications. Example for Windows here
2- Clear your browsing history
3- Subscribe to push and see if you receive push from our demo.
Side-note on Android: You will not see push notifications pop up if your Android device is in silent mode and you have configured your phone to suppress push notifications if you are phone is in silent mode.
If you are still not able to receive push, please follow-up via e-mail on the e-mail thread you started with our support team. Next step will be for our support engineers to initiate a call to look at your screen and try to debug the issue.
