• When I get an order and click the order to go to the Edit Order screen, I see the mobile number of the customer appears only under ‘General’ but DOES NOT appear under ‘Billing’ and ‘Shipping’ (address is okay in both these places). Has it anything to do with the checkout form/checkout fields? If so, is there I can make the customer enter their mobile number only once and it appears by default in billing and shipping (of course with the option to edit it).

Can anyone let me know how to fix this?

    Hi there @mjaitly123,

It is possible that the issue is related to the configuration of your checkout fields. By default, WooCommerce only requires the customer to enter their phone number once, under the ‘Billing’ section, and this should automatically populate in the ‘Shipping’ section unless the customer opts to enter a different shipping phone number.

If the phone number is not appearing under ‘Billing’ and ‘Shipping’, it could be due to a custom checkout field configuration on your website.

You might want to check any custom functions or plugins that may be modifying the checkout fields.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi

I have added a mobile field in my Billing and while checking out, I fill the mobile number (10 digits). However, despite entering the mobile number, I still get a red color message saying ‘Billing Mobile is a required field’.

I need to fix this. Please help.

Hi please ignore my last question. I think I was having some issue with the plugin ‘Checkout Field Editor’ and I have raised the issue with them.

Please help me with the below

Even when I am not using any plugin,

    a) When I select/choose (on the checkbox) ‘ship to the same address’ option, I am able to place the order. However, in the WooCommerce->order section when I click the order and expand it, I see the mobile number appearing only in the billing section but not under the shipping section where I need it. Maybe the mobile number is getting updated in the database, but it does not appear under shipping.

    b) When I deselect ‘ship to the same address’ then I see no mobile number option appearing at all under the ‘shipping section’. I see other shipping fields present though. How can I enable the mobile number option?

    Thanks

    Hey, @mjaitly123!

Can you please confirm if you are using the checkout block or the checkout shortcode? The reason I’m asking is because the way to edit the checkout is different with those options.

Can you please share the System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support? If possible, please keep the website’s URL on it so we can take a look?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Please use the URL for a test product – Test Product – Shop Trendy T-Shirts, Hoodies & Sweatshirts Online (modishfolks.in) Using the Inspect tab of the browser, I am sure you can make out whether it is the checkout block or checkout shortcode.

You will see my default, ship to a different address is selected but the mobile number field is missing. How can I make it visible?

For testing with keeping the shipping address same, you will be able to enter all the details including the mobile in the billing section. However, as stated earlier, in the order detail section, the mobile number does not appear under shipping. I want it to appear or else I have to type it manually at the dropshipper’s site for every order and this wastes my time,

    Hey, @mjaitly123!

I checked your website and saw you are using the checkout short code.

Please note that to change the checkout with short code you will need either custom code or a plugin.

We have a plugin called Checkout Field Editor that you might want to take a look.

There are also other options available from other developers.

You can search for “woocommerce checkout customization“, or something similar, on the Plugins > Add New section of your dashboard or on a search engine like Google, for example.

Please note that we do not provide support for third-party plugins, so it is good to check the plugin thoroughly to see if it is reliable. You can find more about this in this guide.

If you rather use custom code, we are also not able to provide support for that, as per our support policy, we do our best to offer advice and direct you to appropriate resources.

You can visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there too.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hey, @mjaitly123!

I will look into and get back to you. Please don’t close this thread till then.

All right, we will keep it open for now.

But please note that, as I mentioned, we won’t be able to help with third party plugins or custom code.

If you need help with Checkout Field Editor, you can use woocommerce.com support page here: https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!
