    Hi,

I have a small table (2×2) with images in each section. On desktop it looks great but on mobile I can only see the left hand side of the table. I’ve tried to enable the horizontal scrolling and it works fine but the client would prefer the table to automatically go 1 after the other. So it would essentially turn into a 1×4 table where the images can just be scrolled through on your phone one at a time.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? Or even if it is possible?

    Thanks,
    Tom.

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I see what you mean, but unfortunately, I’ll have to disappoint you here. Due to how tables work in browsers, their structure can not directly be changed like that ?? They simply will try to follow that rows/columns structure. Now, there are special CSS hacks that alter how tables are rendered, which might make this work, but I have yet to see a good one that can easily be applied to tables as in your scenario.
Therefore, for things look more like a gallery of images, other HTML structures (like <div> containers) are usually a better approach than HTML tables, as you can then use “regular” CSS code to make those responsive.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks a lot for the reply Tobias. Could you point me in the right direction for one of those? Ideally a plugin but a guide/video would be great too.

    Thanks,
    Tom.

    Hi Tom,

sorry, unfortunately, I’m not aware of a direct replacement solution here ?? You might want to check out gallery or grid plugins maybe. Even the native WordPress [gallery] Shortcode could maybe help.

    Regards,
    Tobias
