    Hi!

i can’t pinpoint the problem, but my page has 2 kind of style, one that is in fullview, with sidebar and full view menu, and one that i get on my mobile with the ”toggle sidebar” button at the bottom of screen with the menu in a button on top of the page.

As it goes on my computer and mobile, they are both ok. But some people get the ”mobile” version on their computer… can i do anything about it? On another computer, with ubuntu and firefox, i got the mobile version. On my computer windows 8 and firefox, it’s the fullview version…

I’m pretty new to wordpress so… hopefully someone can help! Thanks!!!

Ho, by the way, people say it loads slowly, is that because of my host? (i got bluehost, the basic hosting deal) or something on my pages?

  • Hi,

This feature is called “responsive design”. The theme actually respond to the width of the screen you are viewing your website on.

What is the screen resolution (or the size of the browser window) on computers you are getting the mobile layout on? If you resize the browser window, you get this layout on desktop computer too. The layout is not related to the device, but rather the viewport of the browser.

The slow loading can be due to many reasons. Host is one of the major ones. You may try to use a caching plugin such as W3 Total Cache to speed things up a bit, but ultimately, slow host will put you down anyway…

BTW, I can see your website perfectly fine on Win7 (any browser).

hi! i can’t say the exact screen resolution, but it’s a normal computer screen, nothing smaller than usual (bigger than most laptop)

where/how would i change the size limit before it switch? maybe if i enable it for lower resolution it would work on more computers?

    Hi,

Please note that the responsive breakpoints are set up to fit as many devices as possible. They are set to 420px, 680px and 960px. If you are using laptop, it has 960+ px screen width which is perfectly fine for the desktop theme display. The other thing you might check on the affected computer is the browser’s zoom settings. On windows the CTRL + mouse wheel will set up the zoom level. CTRL+0 will reset it to default 100%.

Please check that. If it still won’t help, I suggest you to check on a different computer, perhaps in some store or at a friend. And I suggest you to take the screenshot of the whole screen and post here to determine what’s wrong. Maybe even zoom level of the whole operating system is set up higher? Please check the screen resolution and DPI settings on the affected computers too.

    Regards,

    Oliver
