mod rewrite rules making admin section inoperable (404)
-
Installed latest version of wp-super-cache on my 3.1.2 wordpress, tried to configure the highest level of caching which is the mod rewrite method of redirects to static html pages. Here is the problem:
I got it working great, serving the static compressed pages. yeh! But – it ONLY works when the wp-super-cache rewrite rules are ABOVE the wordpress permalink rewrite rules. When I simply click the “Update rewrite rules” button inside the plugin settings in wordpress, it writes the rules BELOW the permalink rules, and the no cached pages are served.
So then I go into .htaccess and put the wp-super-cache rules ABOVE the permalink rules and
The whole admin section is rendered either invisible, or it can’t find itself, and all admin pages give out a 404.
Any help would be appreciated. The PHP caching is helping a lot, but my client is getting some national radio shows, and we’re going to need the best caching poss.
thanks
