mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 240 seconds – 504 Errors

  • We recently began getting the following errors:

    [Wed May 27 20:06:46 2015] [error] [client 37.140.141.9] Premature end of script headers: index.php
    [Wed May 27 20:07:05 2015] [warn] [client 45.63.53.238] mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 240 seconds

    Can anyone offer up a potential resolution/explanation – so we can begin to resolve the issue.

    Is this a resource setting? Or a plugin? Or wordpress php itself? We have a VPS server and other sites on there are fine.
