My problem is the same as another I see on this forum, but I need a more clear answer. I am using a multisite. When the plugin was upgraded, all of the modal windows on the three sites disappeared. I tried importing the old modal windows using the IMPORT button in Settings, but nothing happens when I press it. Can you pls tell me the specific steps of what I need to do to get these back? I spent tons of time on styling for them for a client. I am really hoping NOT to have lost that. Please advise. Thanks.

I was able to get it working again by employing the old plugin folder. But then when I updated the plugin, the same thing happened. The modal windows disappeared and I can’t update using the UPDATE button. Is there a fix so I can update the plugin and still have it work on a multisite? Thanks.

Okay, back to being a cluster again. Cannot delete the plugin.

It is working in two out of the three sites. I don’t know where to fix this in the database. Also, it won’t allow me to delete the older folders of the plugin. I have renamed them, but can’t delete them. Please advise.

Where in the database do I need to fix this? Thanks for your help.

I even added new modals windows but it won’t go to them. Instead it goes to website.com/#.

I was able to delete the old folders of the plugin. That was a hosting issue. But still can’t get it to work on one of the 3 child sites on a multisite network. Can you give me pointers to where to fix in db?

Hey Superfly, sorry i started a reply yesterday on my phone but never posted it. Here are answers to the questions i saw.

The old plugin stored its settings in the _options table. Using keys beginning with EasyModal_

There is both one key listing all modal ids, and a separate key for each modal id containing that modals settings.

We have moved in 2.0 to custom tables for more flexibility, but are currently migrating in v3 (currently staging for beta now) to custom post types for even more compatibility and flexibility. We are thoroughly testing import from both v2 and v1 to the v3 platform in beta to avoid issues in the future. We tried this with a smaller group for v2 but still had issues.

If you manually migrate them that should work fine, You can then control the ID for each table row matching the old ID so that links work the same.

As for links not opening modals it sounds like either a JS issue or the modals are not set to load on the pages they are used on. Either enabling sitewide for all pages, or enable them for each page.

Hope this helps, sorry for the delay.

Thank you so much for your answer. Per your direction to the correct table, I solved the problem by exporting the rows from a site that was working into the one that wasn’t and that solved my problem. When would you suggest I visit back for a smooth upgrade? Thanks!
