• I’m not sure when this problem started, but I have a problem moderating my comments. Any action link I click (approve/unapprove, delete) does the little Javascript animation (goes red breifly, then fades out).

However, when I try to navigate away from the page, I get a popup saying: “Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?”

If I click “OK” and leave, and then go back to the Comments area, I find that any administrative action I took has not been saved. Approving comments doesn’t work, etc.

If I go to “Mass Edit Mode” I can delete comments. If I go to the “edit” page of each comment, I can change them individually.

I’m assuming something is wrong with the Ajax functions.

Really need help on this, thanks.

    Nobody can help with this?

The problem seems to only happen in FireFox. I tested IE7 and it doesn’t happen. Can someone please help?

I am having a similar problem that showed up a couple of days ago. We just upgraded to 2.1.3 on this site in hopes that it would go away. It did not.

    Symptoms:
    1) Occurs in FFX (Mac and PC), IE6 and IE7 and SAFARI
    2) Can not switch between VISUAL view and CODE view in editor without generating a javascript error.

When I try to do switch between VISUAL and CODE, my Java debugger tells me in prototype.js, line 499

    return (inline !== false ? this : this.toArray())._reverse();

is generating an error “too much recursion”. I am getting a stack overflow Error 500 in IE 6 and IE 7.

    3) When I try and make a change to the text then “save” or “Save and Continue Editing”, I get a message “Do you really want to navigate away from this page?” Also, no changes are being made to the post I am editing.

    Any ideas??

That did not fix the problem. You are assuming we are using the Lowstream theme, or another theme that loads prototype.js ?

I am certainly not, so those “fixes” don’t do anything to help me. Checking view-source in the comment area shows prototype.js is being called and seems to be loaded without any errors.

I have tried different themes, deactivating all of my plugins, etc.

I have also recently upgraded to 2.1.3 with no luck of fixing the issue.

Just to clarify, I can post and switch between code/visual editor fine. Editing comments does not work though.

Can anyone shed some light on what may be causing this?

Very wierd that IE7 does not have any issues. I think my problem might be related to something else.

Is there anyone out there with some ideas?

    Thanks

I am having this problem with posting and so far nothing has seemed to fix it. I can post in Safari fine, but not in Firefox, with the bookmarklet or inline.

This is a screenshot of the error:

This is a screenshot of my Firebug Javascript console:

Any help would be appreciated. I’m beginning to regret upgrading to 2.2.

yes. i’ve had my site for more than several months now. i am not able to make any changes in any browser. in ie7 i get a stack overflow msg. in firefox i get the ‘navigate away from this page’ msg.

if you’ve resolved this problem, please let me know. i don’t want to re-install.

I’m also having this program but it arose spontaneously, it was workign fine before and I didn’t change anything in the wordpress config or browser. The only thing that changed was that I turned off the rich editor and then turned it back on. There are also two Mac OS users who may have edited some of the same posts. I’m on a windows XP platform with IE7. I opened Firefox and am able to edit and save just fine in it. I’ve had this problem intermittently in the past as well, and it resolved itself. I don’t know how, but I think it may have something to do with the Mac admin user (who swears they changed nothing in the config) being on there as that seems to be the only commonality.
