  • It should happen automatically. I mean, add-on domain has its own DNS record, it can be accessed independently from the primary domain from the browser.

    The physical files can be located as subdirectory of primary domain. But, you can install WordPress inside the add-on domain and treat it as independent domain.

    You should specify the WordPress address and the Site Address in general setting as https://www.addon-comain.com.

    Thanks much! You were absolutely right. I changed the WP and Site address fields to be my add-on domain and it formatted my links accordingly.

    For some reason I ignored changing those fields since WP pre-populated those fields for me when I installed WP in the subdirectory for my add-on domain.
