Modified twenty-nineteen language files.

    my Wordfence just reported me that on 7-Mar-2024 three twenty-nineteen language files were automatically modified :

    1)wp-content/languages/themes/twentynineteen-en_GB.po

    2)wp-content/languages/themes/twentynineteen-en_GB.mo

    3)wp-content/languages/themes/twentynineteen-en_GB.l10n.php

    I have to mention that i have auto-updates turned to off.
    First of all are these changes legit? Especially the /twentynineteen-en_GB.l10n.php bothers me but i really couldn’t see anything suspicious inside the contents of the file :

    Secondly, how can these files be auto-updated since i have auto-updates turned to off?

  • The PHP is used to provide individual texts for the block editor. It has been normal for some time that this comes with many (not all) themes.

    Changes to translations are imported as soon as the translation teams publish them. This happens at irregular intervals for all themes and plugins. Normally, these updates are then imported directly, as in your case.

    How have you suppressed the import of updates? Language file updates are handled differently to plugin or theme updates. It would therefore be important to know what exactly you have done for this?
