    Hi there,

You won’t want to change any core files of the Give plugin because you would lose those changes when Give is updated.

Those messages generally can be changed either by overiding the shortcodes via your theme, or with filters. Can you give me a very specific example? Then I can tell you exactly what you need to do.

    Thanks!

I will not modify core GiveWP plugin file.

I already have a separate folder to contain my other changes to GiveWP. (i.e. adding custom field)

I temporarily addressed the issue buy simply editing the text on the page after it was published—to “override” the short code’s display on this page.

I would like to properly change the text in the shortcode display to replace the original text with: “We’re sorry, your transaction failed to process. Contact Us for assistance 908-575-8300.”
