“Modify” Ping Behavior

  • I have a kind of odd question, but maybe not too odd.

    I have WordPress setup so that my blog posts are on /blog following the Codex article on setting that up. I was wondering, based on that setup, and not knowing if a new post will show up on the frontpage (Still working on the layout) how does pinging a site like Pingomatic work? Does WordPress just ping it with domain.com/ or is it smart enough to ping domain.com/blog?

    If it’s not smart enough to realize the posts have been moved to /blog, where in the code does the actual ping process take place, so I can either alter it so I can set it up on the admin page, or hardcode it with the URL.

    Very cool…just what I wanted to hear. Probably because I have spent the last couple of hours or so hunting up the ping functionality, and it’s apparently not very obviously named…because I’m missing it:)
