I installed Contact Form 7 and would like to customize the message that displays after the user submits the form. I am new to all of this so thank you for your patience.

    1. How can I redirect the user to a new page that thanks him/her for submitting the form?

    2. Is there a way to thank them personally in the confirmation page, so as an example, a way to pass the info from the name field so I can say thank you Bob or whatever for submitting this form?

    Thanks!!!!

I, too, am very interested in having the form take the user to a confirmation page. In order to track conversion goals in Google Analytics, the URL needs to change. I’d also like to use more copy and collateral to thank the user, and a custom thank-you page would accomplish both.

    Any ideas?

    1. Contact Form 7 doesn’t support the feature so-called “Thank you page”, and doesn’t have any plans to support it in the future.

    2. You don’t need page redirection to the “Thank you page” for tracking conversions. For Google Analitics, you should use _trackPageview() JavaScript function instead. This post shows an instruction for using it with Contact Form 7.

    Hi takayukister,

Thanks for your reply. Would it be difficult to modify the code to enable it to redirect to a thank you page?

It’s not so difficult, honestly. Actually, you’d be able to find users on this forum who do ‘hack’ to make it enable to redirect. I just think it is confusing.

This contact form has the redirect feature:
    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/si-contact-form/

On the options page is a checkbox: “Enable redirect after the message sends.”
After a user sends a message, the web browser will display “message sent” for 5 seconds, then redirect to this URL. You can make it redirect to any URL you want, including a custom thank you page.
