• Whew, sorry folks about my last outburst. I swear it wasn’t meant for your eyes, I got nothin’ but thumbs up for WP.

ANYWAY, I’m moving away from HaloScan because I’m tired of having to mess with starting from scratch on comments, but I really don’t like the look of WP comments. I think popup windows are more attractive (since you can comment without leaving the main page).

One problem, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to edit that window. If I could mess with that thing myself, life would be considerably easier. I’m at https://www.hanlonsrazor.org, and using the AndyBlue theme which has three comments PHPs, one called comments-ajax, one just comments, and one dddcomments.

  • You might have to contact the theme Author on this then? I’ve never used that theme before, but, usually there’s one called: comments-popup.php.. Good luck!

Not a popup, but I have written a small JS script to allow loading of the comments and the comment form right in the index page – as well as a small guide how to include that into almost any theme. If you know some PHP, HTML and maybe CSS it should not take you more than 10 or 15 minutes to apply my ‘hack’ to your favorite theme. You can see the script in action at https://blog.ranta.info – in case the entry about my ‘hack’ is no longer on front page when you read this, the permalink is https://blog.ranta.info/archives/115/spice-up-your-wordpress-theme/
