Modifying width/number of homepage widgets

    Hello

    I’d like to have just one or two homepage widgets instead of three. Can anyone tell me the best way to modify their width and whether they appear or not?

    I have tried using the widget in the colophon but this makes it appear on every page which I don’t want (also the widget does not appear properly when placed here).

    Hi,

    You can: First we need a Child Theme, after the Child Theme is in place copy sidebar-home.php to your child and replace the content with this:

    Upload back to your server and you’re done. Now you will have one widget only.

    I’ve got as far as installing the child theme but am not sure
    – where I get the sidebar-home.php from
    – how I copy it to the child?

    Just one more thing on this. I’m not sure yet whether I will need just the 1 or 2 – do you have a link for 2 home widgets?
