• Hi all,

Lately I’ve been developing a lot of websites using Sitefinity CMS. Works like a charm, but is pretty expensive. Therefore I am using WP more often. Especially with a plugin like Visual Composer, it comes really close to Sitefinity’s ease of use.

However, there is ONE things I am missing. I can develop it myself, but that will take a couple of days and I don’t want to re-invent the wheel.

I am missing some sort of module / widget builder. In Sitefinity this helps you to create a module, without writing a single line of code. For example, let’s say you want a portfolio section. You can create that static in the content, but you’d probably want a detailpage for every item, but also you want to sort, or filter items. You most likely would like to categorise it and add it to different pages. And so on.

What Sitefinity offers is simply a tool to create the fields you need. E.g. thumbnail, image, excerpt, category, tag, content, etc. Then it creates the module, so you can start filling it. It automatically spits out some widgets, that you are free to edit or style. So in minutes, you’ll have your own custom module running the way you want, where you want, when you want.

WordPress being the most popular CMS, probably has some sort of feature / plugin / addon / widget / class / whatever I suppose. The problem is that I can’t find it.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!
