Monitoring WordPress — logs
-
Hi,
I’ve recently taken over management of a few Ubuntu servers, each with about 6-12 WordPress sites installed on them, and I’m currently trying to establish a method to monitor the sites for issues. I’ve been looking through the documentation, and I haven’t found much guidance on monitoring the sites. I realize that there are plugins that accomplish this, but I’d prefer to use log files, scripts, etc. I’ve noticed that there is a logs folder in the staging directory, but ours just has “index.html” and a .svn folder. I’m not really seeing much in the way of logging here.Is there a way to turn on additional logging, to record things like, users that log into the management page, when files were last changed, if an update is available for plugins or WordPress, etc.?
Alternatively, if there is a better way to monitor WordPress, I’m new and open to exploring alternatives. Thanks!
