• I am using the Montone Theme for my wordpress site and after a lot of searching and experimenting I still can not get the images to display properly. They appear only as red x boxes…

I followed the readme file in the themes folder and have the background colour changing correctly (which seems to be the main problem discussed on the forums) but it still doesnt want to display my photos?

i am new to wordpress and have very little knowledge on code etc but get the basics.

https://www.jon-warren.co.uk if you would like to see the problem.

has anyone got any idea how i can fix this?

  • there is a colon : in your image urls, for instance:
    https://www.jon-warren.co.uk:/wp2/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Calvin-Klein-online.jpg?w=840"

    – check your settings in ‘dashboard’ ‘settings’ ‘general’

    WordPress address (URL)
    Site address (URL)

to see if there is no colon : at the end of the url(s)

i am also not sure where the ?w=840 at the end of your image url comes from; without it and without the colon, the image is displayed.

Great that seems to of sorted it. I have no idea where that came from but removing the : in general settings and deleting the ?w=840 from the custom fields in each post sorted it.

    Thanks a lot
