I have two sites running 5.9.0 On one, the down arrow on the right hand side of the current month, when clicked gives me a list of months and years to choose from, on the other, it does nothing, even though when hovering over it, the cursor changes to a hand and the dialog shows “click to toggle datepicker”. I’ve checked that the settings seem the same on both sites, the only difference between the 2 sites is that the affected one has a lot more events. Can someone please suggest what the issue is.

    Hi @daveatcos,

    Sorry to hear about this!

It looks like WP Fastest Cache is in place on this site — this might be caching or minifying the assets needed for The Events Calendar to run, causing the issue.

Please exclude the /events page from caching, and let me know if it fixes the problem!

    Thanks,
    Erica

    Hi @daveatcos,

Have you already tested for theme and plugin conflicts? Does it happen with a default WordPress theme, or with other plugins deactivated?

    Thanks,
    Erica

    Hi Erica @eeide

It appears to be a conflict with plugin Quick Paypal Payments (Premium). Turning it off removes the problem, but we need to use both plugins. Regards, Dave.

    Hi @daveatcos,

Thanks for narrowing that down and letting us know about conflict with the Quick Paypal Payments plugin!

I’ll submit a bug report on this end so our devs can check into the cause. We’ll reach out here with more information after they’ve had a chance to take a peek!

    Thanks,
    Erica

    Hi @daveatcos,

Our developers recommend reaching out directly to the author of the Quick PayPal Payments plugin regarding this conflict, or switching to the official PayPal Payments plugin offered by WooCommerce.

    Thank you,
    Erica

    Hi Erica @eeide

That’s a disappointing response. Surely it makes much more sense for you to deal directly with the QPP people to come up with a resolution. I know from experience of plugin conflicts they will simply refer me back to you, especially as it’s the Events Calendar that is being impacted by the conflict.
    Regards
    Dave.

    Hi Erica @eeide

There’s np reply to my last message. The issue is seen in The Events Calendar not QPP so to me it makes sense for your developers to take the lead on fixing it, I don’t understand why they are reluctant to do so ?
    Regards
    Dave.

    Hi @daveatcos,

I understand your disappointment. Unfortunately, our developers are unable to ensure compatibility, or release fixes for every 3rd party PayPal plugin available.

We have recently released a new solution called Tickets Commerce, that offers a more up-to-date experience with PayPal.

    Thank you,
    Erica

    Hi Erica @eeide

I appreciate you cannot ensure compatibility, or release fixes for every 3rd party PayPal plugin available, but I have highlighted a specific clash with your plugin that should be easy enough to replicate and investigate. We have tried it on several different websites and the issue is there on them all.

    Regards
    Dave.

I would add to that Tickets Commerce does not appear to be of use for what we want which is for occasionaly donations of varying amounts. QPP does the job well. Regards, Dave

    Hi Erica @eeide

The people at QPP have been very helpful. They have found out that it is a conflict of datepicker libraries. Quick Paypal Payments uses a jQuery UI datepicker while The Quick Event Manager uses Bootstrap Datepicker.

The only fix they can suggest for QPP is either to disable one of those libraries, but maybe something you can do your end.
