I have set up a number of events, and when I go to the above link the title of the tab changes to “Events for May 2018” so I know the Events Calendar is displaying the page, but no events or calendar shows up, only “It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for”.

If I go to the page for each event, for example
    https://www.craftypots.studio/event/mothers-day-clay-heart-handprints/
the event shows up, and I can switch to List View and the events will show up

I am using Elementor 2.0 with OceanWP, WP 4.9.6, The Events Calendar is 4.6.16 (not pro) and I have no extensions installed.

I have tried going into the general settings and changing permalinks to something else, saving changes and choosing “Post Name” again.

I’m quite lost. Any help appreciated.

I’ve happened to make some progress, but I fail to understand why. Elementor 2.0 has the ability to set up templates, and some time ago I had added an Archive template, with a condition to apply to “All Archives”.

I was trying to understand what an Archive is in WP speak, what it is used for with no success.

I’d like if someone could explain what a WP archive is. Of course I know what the word “archive” normally means, but the specific WP speak meaning escapes me.

Anyway, I decided to clean up the Elementor templates, and after I deleted the Archive template, the Month view STARTED WORKING?

Can someone explain the concepts in play here ?

    Thanks
    Kent

    Hey there @kentsor!

    Thanks for reaching out.

An archive in WordPress is basically just a collection of posts grouped by category, tag, author etc. In the case of The Events Calendar custom post types. This article may help you understand it a bit better → https://vegibit.com/what-is-a-wordpress-archive-page/

    Glad you got this working!

    Hey there,

Since this thread has been inactive for a while, I’m going to go ahead and mark it as resolved. Don’t hesitate to create a new thread any time you help again!

    Ed ??
