• I have read many, many threads on people having inserting
image problems. I have rechecked all the possible problems
but to no avail. I can upload the image. I can see it when
I “browse all”. I can insert it into a post, but as soon as
I try to save or publish the image is replaced by a text box
with the image name. Here is a screen shot of a test post with the html displayed:
    https://www.ajh.ca/images/wordpress_screenshot.jpg
Here is where the image resides on the server:

I am using a fresh instal of the latest version.

    Thanks.

  • I can insert it into a post…
    How do you do that?

I can drag it into the post, (firefox), or I can click on the image and use the popup option menu to send it to editor. The image at this point is sitting in the post. I then position it and get the text to wrap like I want it to. Everything is fine. When I try to either “save and continue editing”, “save” or “publish” and the result is that the image dissappears like it is in the screenshot.

    Thanks again.

    Don’t drag – known bug.

I appreciate all the prompt responses. Handy, I get the same results if I drag or if I “send to editor”. What can I give you guys that would help with a diagnosis?

I could put up a test post and then copy the source code?

    Thanks.

This is the exact problem I’m still having as well. Is anyone using the feedburner plugin? It updates the htaccss, I wonder if that could be doing something?

I have managed to place and (more importantly) keep images when saving or publishing by using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox.

I am not sure if it is a setting in Firefox or the browser itself. I am not even sure if using Internet Explorer has solved all the image problems, but I have managed to insert format and publish a post with an image using IE.

    As always,
    thanks to everyone.

    Andy.
