    Hi,

We’re considering get the paid service for the backup plan. Where can we get more info about it, like how many restore points? when is it done (time of the day)? is it incremental? how to restore?

    Cheers,
    Pedro

    Hi Pedro,

To start, Jetpack Backups are still in development and are only available for sites that are hosted on Pressable:

    https://pressable.com/?utm_source=jetpack&utm_medium=site_referral

Do you currently have a hosted site that you want to backup? If so, is the site currently hosted on Pressable?

when is it done (time of the day)? is it incremental? how to restore?

The initial backup will backup your entire site and depending on how large your site, can take some time. After that, however, all of your activity is backed up in realtime and you can revert your site to any activity at any point in time.

Where can we get more info about it, like how many restore points?

For more information on backups, please visit our support page:

As you stated, backups require being on a Jetpack plan, and here is information about purchasing a plan:

    Thanks!

Sorry guys, but you should be more transparent about the services you’re selling.

You say in your price plan: “Automatic daily backups of your entire site, with unlimited, WordPress-optimized secure storage.” with no link to essential, deal breaking info, that can inform us that:
1 – This service is still in tests (no responsability)
2 – It doesnt work, unless you’re in Pressable (not a service)

Sorry for the confusion, the service detailed at https://jetpack.com/support/backups/ is only available to sites hosted at Pressable.

However, if you are hosted elsewhere, we still offer the same backup frequency and storage via https://vaultpress.com/

VaultPress and Jetpack are both products of the same company: Automattic.

We are currently replacing VaultPress with Jetpack Backups, but we are rolling out slowly to make sure that everything works as well on the new platform as it does on the old one.

So, if you signup now for “automatic daily backups of your entire site, with unlimited, WordPress-optimized secure storage” and you are _not_ hosted on Pressable, you will still receive “automatic daily backups of your entire site, with unlimited, WordPress-optimized secure storage” via VaultPress.

    Hi James,

thanks for the reply and explanation.
Sorry for the last post, but I really wasn’t understanding what you were selling in terms of backup services. I′ll have another look before presenting it to my client.

Maybe in the midst of that marketing content, you could include some info or link about the actual state of the services? Just my 2 cents.

    Cheers,
    Pedro

Just another question, the vaultpress backup needs the vaultpress plugin to be installed along with jetpack?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, unless you are hosted on Pressable, you will need the VaultPress plugin to use our backup services.
