More than one Organization / Suggestion

    Is there a way to put different organizations instead of just one? For instance, for two separate images, there would have a total of four links between the two:

    John Doe | Unsplash

    John Doe | Pixabay

    Optimally, in each picture’s settings in the Media Libary, there would be this option where the organization can be changed out per image:

    Credit: John Doe
    Credit URL: https://www.johndoe.com

    Organization: Unsplash
    Organization URL: https://www.unsplash.com

    Hi @neutralgroundnews,

    that is not possible at the moment. I can create a feature request issue on GitHub for it, but I’m not totally convinced of the general usefulness (compared to the complexity).

    What is your specific use-case? Would implmenting this feature benefit the majority of the plugin’s users in any way?

    Hi Pepe.

    We utilize different sources for our images, Unsplash, Pixabay, Pexels, etc. So being able to add only one of them as opposed to “as-needed” like the Credit options is a drawback. Optimally, we’d like to be able to change out whichever main source it comes from so each image can be tweaked as needed. Does this make sense? I feel like a good majority of bloggers do the same thing and may be helpful to add Organization as a fill-in option on each image’s settings. Thanks.

    I can see the use-case now, but I don’t think the “organisation” feature is a good fit as that was always intended to be a way to name the site. To be useful, organisations would have to be compatible with freetext credits (which they are not at the moment) and there would have to be a way to set up an arbitrary number of organisations.

    I’ve added an enhancement request on GitHub, we should continue the discussion there.

    I completely understand. Perhaps there could be another workaround eventually by creating a separate class similar to the Credit fields using only URLs and something like a title of “Source” instead of “Organization,” etc. Thanks for the consideration. Keep up the great work!
