mosaic gallery display

  • Can the developers of this make the tiled display with far more controls. At the moment I can’t control the width of space between the images, they bunch together, and it is generally lacking controls. I’d like to alter the thumbnail size so I can make a nice large square tiles with bigger gaps, but altering the settings under media settings doesn’t make any difference on two themes I use. Can Jetpack develop the gallery displays please. I haven’t found an alternative gallery and carousel plugin that doesn’t crash or not load on a theme yet. Unless anyone can recommend something. Gallery tiles is really the issue. Controls for spacing between photos, cropping to squares or not, as wished, and all wrapped in a carousel finish.

    Howdy!

    Jetpack galleries uses Photon (our image CDN) to dynamically generate the gallery layouts on the fly. Since we do the layout calculations and processing on our servers at WordPress.com, there’s no simple way to target those galleries with CSS to affect the spacing once the gallery is generated. In fact, I’m not even sure if you can – you can always give it a shot, though.

    As far as alternatives, there’s nothing specific that I could recommend – I use Jetpack and am happy with it so I’ve never researched other plugins to do the same thing. Sorry I can’t be more help with that.
