100's of text links broken after removing "wp" from site URL

No, you did it right, there’s just nothing in WordPress that automatically changes existing links in content.

I’ve just installed that plugin but I don’t know how to use it to target just the kind of links I need changed. My WordPress installation is still on its own “WP” subdirectory, so for example all image URLs will need to stay unaltered.

Hm, in that case then you’ve got two options:

1. Move the whole thing into the root directory (don’t leave anything in /wp/) following this guide: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Moving_WordPress#Moving_Directories_On_Your_Existing_Server (and then use the plugin mentioned earlier)

2. Manually change each individual link that needs to be changed.

Groan. That’s some food for thought then.

I’ll see what other URL replacement plugins I can find first. Maybe something more user friendly.
