My favorite is Andreas4 2.0, because I like the look. You can see how I’ve “abused” the poor thing here…

I’m changing things, but could use some advice on layout.
Andreas4 is a simple, compact theme where structure is concerned. For example, the three side bars (right: upper, lower right, and lower left) are incorporated into the same file.
It is, to be technical here, a three column theme. Since I’m a blog bling packrat, that’s what I need. A two column theme may be more your style.
Look for themes that keep the number of files required to a small number. Also ones that add functions you may not need or want. Stay away from themes that require certain plug-ins, unless those plug-ins are incorporated into the theme, or are included with it. ‘Course, if it just looks right, don’t let me dissuade you.
I hope you find a theme you like.
