Most recent blog posts not showing on Blog page

Hello,

I have been running into trouble lately with my twenty-twelve wordpress theme. My last 2 latest posts are not showing up on my dedicated blog page (titled Updates). I know that they’re published because they show up on the site’s homepage as I’m using the single latest posts lite plugin to display the latest 5 posts on the site. So they’re showing up on my homepage, by setting the shortcode to display the last 5 posts categorized under “home”, yet they’re not showing up on the blog page where all posts are supposed to show no matter what category they’re under.

As far as what I’ve done to try and troubleshoot this issue:
? I’ve replaced the index.php file with the default file that comes with twenty twelve, just incase something got mixed up. No dice there.
? Tried copying the php loop from the single.php and placing it in place of the loop within the index.php (saw this as a suggestion in another topic). Didn’t work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
