Most Slider Options Aren’t Functional

  • I just installed this plugin and so far, it looks pretty awesome! Can’t believe how clean and simple the UI is.

    I just have two questions that I think are probably pretty simple.

    1. If options are visible in drop-down menus for the 4 different sliders and different theme options, should they be functional in the free version or are they only for Pro users? On the backend, I can see the 4 slider options – FlexSlider, R Slides, Nivo Slider, and Coin Slider – but when I choose FlexSlider, the only effects I can choose are Fade and Slide. Is it not possible to use the Nivo Slider + Slide Effect + Dark Theme? I’m wondering if I just need to upgrade to have all possible settings combination options available.

    2. Is it possible to rename a slideshow after it’s been created? If so, how?!

    My site is currently down for maintenance, but I imagine someone can answer this without accessing my site. I’m using Valenti Theme, freshly installed, and the current WP version.

    To answer your questions, 1) The grayed out options are because some sliders do not support certain functionality. Upgrading to Pro wouldn’t make a difference. If there’s a feature that required Pro, then we have a link next to it informing you to “learn more”.

    2) To rename a slideshow you need to hover over the tab. You should see a white input box appear. You can click into this box to edit the name. I know it feels a little hidden but we have an open ticket to improve this approach. Alternatively, you may click “toggle” at the top right of the screen to change the layout view. From there, you can edit the title on the right side of the screen.

    Glad to hear everything is working now. By the way, we’ve made progress on updating the UI for this so look for a change over the coming weeks.
