Movable Type to WordPress … success!

  • Hi all. I am sure you’ve heard this many times before: I have successfully converted my site from MT to WP, and I am a happpy man. Now don’t click too fast, I’m sure I have tons of browser issues to work out. I promise I’ll get to those eventually. I’m using some cool plugins like WP Paginate, Dashboard Options, and Custom Posts Per Page. I’m also using a CSS-based drop down to render my categories (not sure of compatibility) that is based on this thing called Suckerfish Dropdowns. I absolutely dig WordPress (especially this support forum!). Please take a look if you have a chance.

    Thanks all. It has been a ton of fun messing around with PHP. WP is like a gateway drug into scripting languages! Ha!

    Heck yes it is…

    Last weekend I was rebuilding a theme basically and without knowing hardly any PHP, I was able to teach myself quite a bit because I messed with WP so much.

    it just works like bloglines, blogsnow, technorati, … but concentrates on music / bands. you can customize your own rss feed from your favorite bands, even if they don’t provide that.
