Move blog domain but keep PR and backlinks?

    I just thought I’d post here before I went away and did this for real.

    I need to move https://www.blog.com to https://www.site.com/blog.

    I would like to make sure that the PR and all links are kept intact and I want to know the best way of doing this.

    Last time I did this I followed some good guides from blogs like Joost de Valk and My Digital Life – and I STILL lost all my backlinks and PR even after implementing an .htaccess 301 redirect.

    If someone could please clarify the process of moving a blog with the goal of maintaining the PR and backlinks then that would be the best Christmas present ever.
