• I have my blog which is currently on wordpress.com. I have even bought a domain and mapped it to the blog.

Recently, I had subscribed to Google adsense, and they approved my request. Now, I realize that the free wordpress.com does not support adsense. so I will need to move to www.ads-software.com and host my blog on one of the paid service domains.

I do not have a problem moving to worpress.org, but there are 2 concerns.

    1) Is there any easy way wherby i get to migrate all my contents and data from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com
    2) I do not want to loose my domain name.. how can I map it to the new blog which will come up on www.ads-software.com

Any help on these questions and any more information which you all think would help me in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated.

  • Backing up is simple to move from wordpress.com to your own WP 2.1 install on your own server space. Just go to ADMIN => MANAGE => EXPORT and download the file there for all your content and authors for posts and pages. The import process is similar once you have WordPress installed on your own server. You will have to download your images one by one though I am afraid….

Wherever you registered your domain name, have the name servers point to your new host (whoever that might be). I would suggest clicking on the “hosting” button at the top of the page!
