move from XAMP local to Live site – XML export/import

    Dear Support Team.

    I made all my website on XAMP local host.

    I have also exported all the files to XML format.

    MY question is: when I import that xml file on the live server what and all I have to change?

    1) How about the permalinks for all those pages
    2) media files
    3) Child theme

    I have put a lot of effort and I do not want to screw up at the last moment.

    I made all the website with sydney (sydney child) using MAMP mac OSX.

    Is it not possible just uploading the xml file and installing all necessary plugins and files?

    I don’t think that you can export everything using XML only, please refer to the tutorial that I have mentioned above.

    Dear Roman,

    I tried this way and it worked as I am not technically advanced person.

    1) made locally development (XAMP mac osx) of all the website
    2) Installed on the server child sydney and all the plugins
    3) imported the XML file (exported from local enviroment)
    4) just I had to fix some small things like menu and media

    I am now following to solve few little things.

    Thanks a lot for all the support from sydney wordpress team which made me possible to launch it successfully.
