• Greetings,

At one time if I wanted to move a post back to the top I would simply edit it’s date info and it would pop back to the top. This way if I updated the info in a post it would be at the top of the page again. However, recently when I update the date info for a post it simply disapears. It pops back to the top in the dashboard, but it is gone from my blog.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • There is a plugin I use on one site – Adhesive Owen Winkler – though I use an older version on that one. There is another plugin – Sticky Something ? I’m sure you can search for it or Google it.. it would actually make the post stay on top?

Sounds like you may be setting the time stamp into the future. If you do that it will disappear from the blog (until that future time), but remain in the admin area.

The date I used was the current date and time, but when I changed it back to the original date it showed up again. So I’m not sure what’s going on there. I can’t find a download for Owen Winkler’s plugin (I found red alt, but no download link). I had some sticky plugin installed the other day and it didn’t do what I thought it was going to do. At least I got my post back on the blog.

Ok, it was WP-Sticky that I had used, and it is built on Owen’s original work. I was using it wrong and now I’m golden. Thanks to both of you!

Welks.. keep us posted on how it goes ??
