Move to new host

  • I tried to move my wordpress to a new host. I logged into cpanel and downloaded a backup and tried to upload the new files to the new host location and now I get an error message that says.

    Error establishing a database connection

    how do I fix this. It looks like it should be easy.

    Chances are the database on the new host is different than your previous one.

    You need to create a new database in your web host and restore the database in the new database. And then, change the database setting in your config.php file.
