Move to VPS and Images Not Working

    I installed imagemagic 3.3.0. it now shows up under phpinfo, but when go to the widget, click display thumbnails and click save, the checkbox is still unchecked.

    do i need to install imagemagic and gd?

    Nope, you don’t need both. Either of them should do.

    If you still can’t enable the thumbnails, then it means that WPP can’t detect the ImageMagick module. You should check with your hosting about this.

    i installed gd and it works now. is imagmagic better than gd?

    Honestly speaking, I couldn’t tell if it’s better or not since it’s not my area of expertise. What I do know is that the ImageMagick extension is newer and better supported nowadays than the GD library (which WordPress used for years, and then switched to ImageMagick not so long ago).
