• At the moment, my WordPress installation for the main domain name is contained in the public_html folder. I’ve heard that it’s not good practice – would that be right?
So I just want to move the installation into /public_html/mydomainname.com.
I’ve already moved the WordPress files in there so how can I get the domain to point to this new folder?

  • I don’t think that’s right.

    eh?

Installing your website to the public folder is the usual/normal thing to do.

    /public_html/mydomainname.com.

what do you mean by “mydomainname.com.” ?this looks like a sub dir install.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I was under the impression that it was not good practice, or that it’s somehow a “cleaner” setup to have the website files contained in a subdir (like all the other 20-odd are).
